PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Ahmad Nivins scored 12 points and Garrett Williamson had 10 points and 10 rebounds as Saint Joseph's pulled away in the second half to defeat Boston University 55-39 Monday night.

Darrin Govens, who broke a bone in his right hand in the season opener on Nov. 14 but was cleared to play Monday, added 11 points for the Hawks (4-1). Corey Lowe had 11 points for BU (2-4), which made only two of 19 shots in second half. Lowe also committed 11 of the Terriers' 26 turnovers.

The teams were tied at 32-32 with 12:19 left before Saint Joseph's went on a 13-1 run to take a 45-33 lead. The margin reached 53-37 on two free throws by Nivins with 1:04 to play. BU scored only on seven free throws in the last 12:19 of the game.

The Terriers held a 26-25 lead after the first half, which saw nine lead changes and 15 turnovers by each team. Nivins, averaging 17 points a game, had only two points while taking only one shot in the half.
