Saint Joseph's Ahmad Nivins has been named the Big 5 Player of the Week for the second consecutive week.
Nivins averaged 24.0 points and 9.5 rebounds in the Hawks' 1-1 week, which included a Big 5 and Atlantic 10 victory over Temple. He shot 16-for-22 (72.7 percent) from the field and 16-for-20 (80 pct) from the foul line in the two games.
In the 80-67 win at Temple, Nivins scored a team-high 20 points while making all eight free throw attempts. In an 86-81 loss to Rhode Island, Nivins tied his career-high with 28 points while grabbing 11 rebounds for his second double-double of the year.
Nivins tops the Hawks in scoring and rebounding with averages of 17.2 points and 7.5 rebounds. He is shooting 64 percent from the field.
Saint Joseph's (10-6; 3-1 A-10) returns to action on Wednesday, Jan. 17 at Fordham.
