For the second time in three games, the Saint Joseph's women's soccer team earned a double overtime draw, this time earning a 1-1 tie at Duquesne on Friday evening.
After a scoreless 45 minutes to start, Saint Joseph's got onto the scoreboard first as freshman Kortney Rhoades beat Duquesne goalkeeper Brittany Findley on an unassisted goal at the 65:36 mark.
The Hawks (7-5-4, 2-2-4 Atlantic 10) lead didn't last long as the Dukes (5-4-4, 3-2-2 A-10) answered back just over two minutes later. Duquesne's Shaina Geisler took a pass from Rachel Laraway and beat Saint Joseph's freshman goalkeeper Cara Critchlow at 67:39.
The teams played to a standstill over the remaining time, with neither team placing a shot on net in either overtime period as each team collected a point with the tie.
As a team, Duquesne out shot the Hawks 12-11 and held a 3-2 edge in corners.
Individually, Critchlow made four saves, while Rhoades led SJU with three shots.
Saint Joseph's returns to action this Sunday at St. Bonaventure at 1 p.m.
