PHILADELPHIA - The Saint Joseph's men's tennis team saw its first action of the fall this past weekend as the Hawks took part in the inaugural City 6 Tennis Tournament. While the format of the tournament was individual-based, the players earned points for their schools based on their performance, and when all was said and done, SJU took home third place, behind first-place Temple and runner-up Penn.

Senior Pat Adams reached the semifinals of the "A" Flight singles draw before falling to eventual champion Filip Rams of Temple, 3-6, 6-1, 6-1. The Hawks also got a fantastic performance from freshman Jeff Kessler, who reached the finals of the "C" Flight before bowing out to Drexel's Brian Nguyen, 6-3, 4-6, 6-3.

The Hawks will return to action on October 1 with a home match against Delaware.
