PHILADELPHIA - A late goal by La Salle was the difference Sunday afternoon as the Saint Joseph's women's soccer team fell to the Explorers, 2-1.

The Hawks (6-7-3, 3-4-1 Atlantic 10) jumped out to a 1-0 edge in the first half as sophomore Jen Pfeiffer tallied her fourth goal of the season in the 22nd minute. Pfeiffer took a pass from junior Lauren Sawyer from the right wing, and deposited the ball into the back-right netting to put Saint Joseph's up 1-0 at 21:01.

La Salle answered back less than eight minutes later as Lauren Baker beat SJU freshman goalkeeper Christine Neal. Baker tallied the tying goal off a pass from Traci Depasquale at 28:47.

The game remained knotted at one heading into the final moments of regulation.

Unfortunately for the Hawks, La Salle's Depasquale broke the tie with a goal at 87:48 off a pass from Morgan Golden to give the Explorers the win.

For the game, the Hawks outshot the Explorers 15-8 as Neal made three saves for SJU.

Saint Joseph's returns to action this Friday when the Hawks host Saint Louis at 5 p.m.
