Saint Joseph's senior guard Tasheed Carr was named the Atlantic 10 Co-Player of the Week on Sunday after leading the Hawks to victory at Richmond on Wednesday night. He shares the award with Xavier's B.J. Raymond. It is Carr's first A-10 honor of the season.
Carr led SJU with 21 points in the 68-58 win over the Spiders. He also notched six rebounds and a season-high eight assists in the contest.
Over the course of SJU's recent seven-game winning streak, Carr is averaging 15.7 points and five assists per game. For the season he has contributed 13.4 points per contest; last season he averaged just 10.8 points per game.
After Sunday's game in Dayton, the Hawks will host George Washington on Wednesday, Feb. 4 at The Palestra. Game time is 7:00 p.m.
