MONROEVILLE, Pa. -
The Saint Joseph's men's tennis team finished in eighth place at the 2009 Atlantic 10 Championships after falling to Duquesne on Sunday morning, 4-1, at the Club 4 Life. Saint Joseph's improved on last season's finish, a tie for ninth place.
Peter Cognetti earned the only point for SJU with a 6-0, 6-2 straight sets victory over Rafael Santiago at number-six singles.
Pat Adams and Matt Prusack combined for a win in the third doubles flight, defeating Santiago and Jimmy Vogelgesang, 8-3. Unfortunately, it wasn't enough for the Crimson and Gray as the Dukes earned victories in the first and second flights to secure the doubles point.
