The Saint Joseph's men's soccer team dropped a 2-0 result to Xavier on Friday night at the Xavier University Soccer Complex. Freshman Michael Moulton continued his solid rookie campaign with six saves between the pipes.
Moulton made four of those stops in the first half for Saint Joseph's (1-9-0, 0-2-0 Atlantic 10), but XU's Bryan Kanu managed to score on a breakaway in the 35th minute to give the Musketeers a 1-0 lead.
Xavier (5-3-3, 2-1-0 Atlantic 10) doubled its lead just after the break as Matt Walker tallied his second goal of the year in the 47th minute to close the scoring.
Justin Marshall made one save on a shot by Colin Baker to preserve the clean sheet for the Musketeers.
Saint Joseph's continues its Ohio swing on Sunday with a game at Dayton. Kickoff is slated for 1:00 p.m.
