Box Score

PHILADELPHIA - The Saint Joseph's women's lacrosse team defeated Wagner, 10-3, in Sunday night's home opener at Drexel's Vidas Field. Four Hawks scored two goals apiece to lead SJU to its second win of the season.

Saint Joseph's Julie Mineweaser scored the first goal five minutes into the first half before the Seahawks scored two goals a minute apart, but Wagner's 2-1 lead was shortlived. The Hawks went on to score four straight goals in a five-minute span, two of which came from back-to-back goals by sophomore Grace Dinn.

Wagner scored what would be their last goal of the game with 13:54 remaining in the frame as Mineweaser and Jenna Martino each added their second goal on the night to make it 7-3 at halftime.

In the second half, SJU shutout Wagner and tacked on three more goals from Carly Kindbom, Alana Glanell and Jen Peters for a 10-3 final.

Kindbom scored two goals in the victory while Glanell had two assists and Peters also added an assist.

Goalkeeper Alisha Aquilino made eight saves in net for a .533 save percentage on the season.

The Hawks return to action on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. when they host Delaware on Finnesey Field.
