Greway, Herdmann and Rozsits Named to Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Team

PHILADELPHIA -

Three members of the Saint Joseph's women's rowing team - Colleen Greway, Katie Herdmann and Lauren Rozsits - have been named to the Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Team. The teams are chosen by the sports information offices of the 28 institutions from the Philadelphia metropolitan area.

Greway and Rozsits each graduated from SJU in May while Herdmann is a rising senior.

Greway, from Westmont, N.J. (Haddon Twp. H.S.), earns Academic All-Area honors for the second time. She was a member of the Hawks' 2010 Atlantic 10 Champion Quad, while rowing for the Varsity 8 which placed second at the conference championship. She was named to the 2010 Atlantic 10 All-Conference First Team and in 2009, rowed for the Hawks' A-10 champion Varsity 8. Greway was honored at Commencement as the co-recipient of the Class of 1950 Award, for the top graduating female student-athlete, and also with the George Senesky Award as the top female scholar-athlete. An elementary/special education major with a 3.86 grade-point average, she was also a two-time Atlantic 10 All-Academic honoree.

Herdmann, from Libertyville, Ill. (Carmel H.S.) rowed for SJU's Varsity 8 which took silver at the 2010 A-10 Championship. In 2009, she helped the Hawks' Second Varsity 8 to second place at the conference meet and was a member of the 2008 A-10 champion in the Freshman 8. A psychology major with a 3.93 grade-point average, Herdmann was also chosen to the 2010 Atlantic 10 All-Academic Team.

Rozsits, from Landenberg, Pa. (Kennett H.S.), becomes a two-time honoree to the Academic All-Area Team. She rowed for SJU's Varsity 8 which took silver at the 2010 A-10 Championship and was a member of the Hawks' Varsity 8 which earned the 2009 Atlantic 10 title. Selected to the Atlantic 10 All-Academic Team in 2010, Rozsits was a finance major with a 3.86 grade-point average.
