The Saint Joseph's men's soccer team dropped their second game in the Pitt Nike tournament, 5-0, to Pittsburgh on Sunday afternoon. Junior defenders Tom Smart and Jake McPaul were named to the All-Tournament team.
The Hawks gave up three goals in the first half with two coming from Panthers' Alex Betancourt. At the 16:42 mark Betancourt controlled a rebound off a shot for the first goal. He later sent a loose ball over Hawks' goalkeeper Michael Moulton from 20 yards out to give Pitt a 2-0 lead with nine minutes left in the frame.
The Panthers went up by three with less than two minutes to go on a one-touch off a crossed ball from the right side.
In the second half Pitt's Sam Luffy padded the Panthers' lead with two more goals, both of which were assisted by Terry Akpua.
Pitt outshot the Hawks, 21-5, and had nine corner kick opportunities to Saint Joseph's three. Moulton totaled six saves in net for the Hawks.
SJU travels to Cornell on Thursday for a 7:00 p.m. match.
