Women's Soccer Soars Past Temple, 7-1

PHILADELPHIA - The Saint Joseph's women's soccer team scored seven goals on their way to a 7-1 victory Friday night at Finnesey Field. Led by sophomore Mo Hawkins' hat trick, the women cruised to a comfortable lead.

Senior Jen Pfeiffer started the scoring for SJU when Hawkins found her up the left side of the field as she put it passed the keeper(8:14). The next two goals (15:56, 23:07) were both scored by Hawkins as Maggie Lupinski and Nicole King both pick up an assist.

The second half went the same way for the Hawks as they erupted for four more goals. The first goal of the half came off of a blasted shot from 30 yards out by Hawkins netting her hat trick (62:36) to get the second half started. The second goal came just minutes after when Pfeiffer headed the ball to the back of the net off of a corner by Lupinski (64:04). Just five minutes later King found Lupinski (69:09) to give the Hawks their sixth goal. The final goal from the Hawks came at 80:28 when Krersten Formento scored on a penalty kick.

The Hawks hit the road next weekend to face Dayton on Friday and Xavier on Sunday.
