Women's Soccer Earns Draw At Saint Louis, 1-1

ST. LOUIS - The Saint Joseph's women's soccer team earned a 1-1 double overtime tie at Saint Louis on Friday evening. The Hawks got a goal from junior Mo Hawkins and moved to 8-5-3 overall and 3-1-2 (11 points) in the Atlantic 10.

Saint Joseph's opened scoring in the third minute, as Hawkins tallied her seventh goal of the season. With the ball inside the Billikens' box, Hawkins drilled a shot to the upper right corner from 12 yards out at 2:44 to give the Hawks a 1-0 lead.

Saint Louis' Alli Reimer tied the game at 1-1 as she headed in a corner kick by teammate Jenny Hummert at 68:21.

The Hawks had three scoring opportunities in the overtime frames, but the Billikens posted a paired of saves and blocked a shot to keep SJU off the board.

In goal, senior Christine Neal made six saves to improve to 8-5-3 on the season.

The Hawks return to action this Sunday at Butler. Game time is set for 1 p.m.
