The Saint Joseph's women's picked up a point in the Atlantic 10 standings Friday evening as the Hawks earned a double overtime draw at Duquesne, 0-0. Saint Joseph's senior Christine Neal picked up her third shutout of the year, making eight saves.
In a nearly even first half, the host Dukes out shot SJU 8-7, with Neal making half of her saves over that time frame.
Saint Joseph's (6-4-2, 1-0-1 Atlantic 10) would post a 12-4 shot advantage in the second half, but unfortunately no shot found the back of the netting.
In the first extra frame, Duquesne was the dominant team, posting six shots to the Hawks' 0. Neal would make two saves in the first overtime and added another in the second to help preserve the tie and give the Hawks four points in the A-10 standings.
For the game, SJU out shot Duquesne 21-19 as junior Morgan Duffy posted a team-high five shots, while classmates Mo Hawkins and Nicole King added four each.
Saint Joseph's returns to action this Sunday at St. Bonaventure. Game time is set for 1 p.m.
