PHILADELPHIA - Tied 2-2 in the final seven minutes of regulation, St. Bonaventure netted two additional goals, in the 84th and 90th minutes, to defeat Saint Joseph's, 4-2, on Sunday afternoon at Finnesey Field. With the loss, the Hawks drop to 4-7-0 overall and 0-2-0 in Atlantic 10 play.

At the 83:42 minute-mark, St. Bonaventure's (3-9-0, 1-1-0 A-10) leading scorer Brad Vanino gained possession of the ball off of a dish from Emmett O'Connor, the Bonnies leader in assists. Vanino put it past Hawks senior goalkeeper Andrew D'Ottavi into the lower-left corner of the net to score the eventual game-winner for St. Bonaventure.

With 41 seconds remaining in regulation, O'Connor found Garth Brungard, who scored for St. Bonaventure to put the game away for the Bonnies, 4-2.

The first half saw St. Bonaventure hold a slight offensive advantage over in shots (6-5) and corner kicks (3-2). The Bonnies struck first in the 13th minute of play when O'Connor found Daniel Iannacito, who fired it past D'Ottavi into the top of the goal to put St. Bonaventure ahead, 1-0.

Four offside penalties in the final 13 minutes of the first half cost the Hawks potential offensive opportunities as they trailed 1-0 heading into the second half.

Saint Joseph's came out of the halftime offensively charged, firing off five shots in the first eight minutes of the second half before sophomore forward Alex Critzos hit the right-corner of the goal to tie the score, 1-1. Freshman midfielder Tim Lazorko threw the ball in to earn the assist, hitting Critzos in the middle of the Bonnie defense.

Just over two minutes later, the Hawks saw another opportunity to attack on the offensive end when junior midfielder Pat McGlynn drew St. Bonaventure goalkeeper Abel Bautista to the perimeter of the 18. Bautista would receive a caution on the play, setting up a free kick just outside the 18 for Saint Joseph's. Junior defender Brendan Reilly rocketed a shot toward the top-center of the net, but Bautista got a finger on the ball to deflect the shot and keep the score tied at one goal apiece.

After another Bonnies goal, this time by Kaine Moar at the 60:15 minute-mark, Saint Joseph's saw a spark in the offense from Lazorko. Lazorko dribbled around several Bonnie defenders and slid the ball past Bautista into the lower-left corner of the goal, equalizing the game 2-2, in the 67th minute.

Overall, Saint Joseph's recorded seven shots on goal compared to St. Bonaventure's five and held the advantage in overall shots 16-13, but the Hawks would be held to just one shot after Lazorko's goal, stifling the chance of an offensive rally.
