LORETTO, PA - The Saint Joseph's women's lacrosse team upended St. Francis (Pa.) on Sunday, 12-3, in Loretto, Pa.
Grace Dinn and
Abby Ananian each scored three goals apiece in the victory.
St. Francis jumped out to an early one goal lead a minute and 34 seconds into the game when the nation's goals-per-game leader, Danielle Conwell, scored her first of two goals on the day. The Hawks would respond midway through the first as Ananian and Carly Kindbom each scored to take the advantage. Conwell answered back with her second to tie the game at two with 12:24 to play.
The Hawks went on to score four straight to end the half and take control of the game. The second half was a similar story as SJU outscored the Red Flash 6-1. Meghan McDevitt went on to add two goals and an assist as Val Paolucci added two goals and two assists of her own.
Saint Joseph's outshot the Red Flash 38-17 and held an advantage in draw controls 11-6.
Alisha Aquilino made all four of her saves in the second half to hold St. Francis to three.
Saint Joseph's will return to action on Wednesday when it hosts Manhattan. The game is set for 4:00 p.m.
