The Saint Joseph's men's tennis team earned a 5-2 victory at St. Bonaventure on Sunday afternoon. SJU earned the doubles point and posted four straight-sets victories in singles play to secure the win.
Dan Barrus was a double winner in the match, teaming up with Tommy Gates for a 9-8 win in second doubles before cruising past Miguel Suarez, 6-3, 6-3, for the fourth-flight singles point.
Alex Veronis and Peter Cognetti started things off for the Hawks with a win in the third doubles flight, helping SJU secure the doubles point.
Jeff Kessler (second flight), Max Montague (fifth flight), and Pierre Brondeau (sixth flight) all won their singles matches in straight sets to power the Hawks to their third win over Atlantic 10 opposition in their last four conference matches.
The Hawks will wrap up the regular season on Tuesday at Lafayette. After that, Saint Joseph's heads to the 2012 Atlantic 10 Championship at the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason, Ohio.
