Women's Soccer Falls In Double Overtime to Bonnies

OLEAN, N.Y. - Saint Joseph's seniors Mo Hawkins and Shannon Farrell scored a goal apiece, but it wasn't enough for the Hawks' women's soccer team as they fell in double overtime to St. Bonaventure, 3-2, Sunday afternoon at McGraw-Jennings Field.

Trailing 1-0 in the second half, Hawkins tied the game at 1-1 with a header off a pass from

Shannon Westhead at 65:49.The Bonnies (7-8-1, 4-3-0 A-10) would retake the lead in the 69th minute, but Farrell would tie the game again, scoring off a pass from McHale Perkins at 79:56 to make it a 2-2 game.

Unfortunately for the Hawks (6-7-3, 2-3-1 A-10), after a scoreless first overtime, St. Bonaventure would tally the game-winning goal off the foot of Lauren Hill at 105:20 for the 3-2 win.

For the game, the Bonnies outshot the Hawks 19-10, with SJU senior goalkeeper Lauren Jancuska making a game-high nine saves.

Saint Joseph's returns to action this Friday against George Mason at 7 p.m.
