PHILADELPHIA - Sophomore midfielder Emily Gingrich scored twice and junior goalkeeper Allison Ebling made three saves to help lead the Saint Joseph's women's soccer team to a 2-0 victory over St. Bonaventure Friday evening at Sweeney Field.

The Hawks opened scoring early as Gingrich tallied her 11th goal of the season in the third minute. Collecting the ball through two defenders at the top of the St. Bonaventure box, Gingrich dribbled free and delivered a shot to the lower left post and past a diving goalkeeper to make it 1-0 at 2:55.

Gingrich would put the Hawks up 2-0 at 12:34, scoring off a corner attempt. Off a corner kick, Shannon Mulvey deflected the ball back into the box from the right post allowing SJU's Meghan DiPippa to collect the ball and set up the goal. In stride, Gingrich blasted a shot to the upper part of the net from the middle of the St. Bonaventure box for her 12th goal of the year, moving her into a tie for second in a single-season with SJU Hall of Famer Ellen Stenrud (1997).

With the win, Ebling moves into a tie with Christine Neal (2012) and Amanda Kuehnle (1997) for second most victories in a single season with nine.

Saint Joseph's caps the home portion of it's schedule Sunday when it hosts Duquesne at 1 p.m. The Hawks will honor their senior class with a ceremony before the start.

Game Notes: Gingrich is two goals shy of the single-season mark of 14 set by Ali Wean in 2006...Gingrich's 26 points this year are the 26th most in a single year, while she currently ranks sixth all-time in goals (19) and points (42)...Ebling will enter Sunday's match one win shy of SJU's single-season record for wins, 10, set by Colleen Corcoran in 1998.
