AMHERST, Mass. - The Saint Joseph's women's soccer team got a goal from sophomore Meghan DiPippa, but it wasn't enough as the Hawks fell at Massachusetts, 2-1, Sunday afternoon.
DiPippa put SJU ahead 1-0 at 11:11 off a redirected corner kick by teammate Olivia McEachern.
Massachusetts tied the game less than a minute later as Georgia Gibson redirected a free kick into the net at 11:49.
The Minutewomen (3-5-4, 1-0-1 Atlantic 10) tallied the eventual game winner with less than four minutes to play as Jackie Bruno's corner kick curved into the net at 87:49.
For the game, Massachusetts finished with a 13-10 edge in shots.
The Hawks (7-6-0, 0-2-0 A-10) return to action on Friday when they host Dayton at 7 p.m.
