CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Saint Joseph's men's tennis team saw its record-breaking season come to a close on Friday as the sixth-seeded Hawks fell to third-seeded Duquesne, 4-1, in the quarterfinals of the Atlantic 10 Men's Tennis Championship at the Boar's Head Sports Club.

The Dukes took the early initiative with a pair of victories in the first and third doubles flights.  In singles play, senior Jose Sierra earned a 6-2, 6-3 win in the first flight to secure a point for the Hawks, but Duquesne notched the required three wins to reach four points and advance to the semifinals.

“We gave a good fight and had a heck of a season,” head coach Ian Crookenden said in reflection.  “Duquesne played better on the day, but we will challenge them in the future.”

Saint Joseph's finished its campaign with a school-record 17 wins in dual matches this season.
