Box Score PHILADELPHIA ? The Saint Joseph's men's soccer team battled to a double-overtime scoreless draw with Drexel in a Philadelphia Soccer Six match-up on Saturday evening on Sweeney Field. The Hawks now stand 3-1-2 overall and 0-0-1 in Soccer Six action and are out to the program's best start since 2002. Freshman goalkeeper Bobby Edwards made four saves to pick up his first collegiate shutout.
"There aren't many cities that have rivalries like this," said head coach Don D'Ambra following the match. "I think that the fact that both teams played as well as they did and competed as hard as they did shows that it meant something."
Saint Joseph's defensive unit proved extremely solid for the entire 110:00 with Edwards in net and senior veterans Tommy Brooks, Jake Nelson, and Brandon Stevis on the back line. A welcomed addition to the unit was junior Tim Lazorko, who made the transition from the midfield to defense for the match.

The Hawks came out of the halftime break and owned an 11-6 advantage in second-half shots, although Drexel owned a 3-2 edge in the opening 15 minutes. Edwards made two saves during that time.
Both squads would see offensive opportunities later in the second half. In the 82nd minute, the Drexel offense managed to pull Edwards up in the box, and Drexel's Nico Delgado found himself with an open net but fired just wide.
