PHILADELPHIA - Saint Joseph's sophomore Shannon Mulvey tallied a first-half goal and junior goalkeeper Allison Ebling and the defense kept LIU Brooklyn off the board as the Hawks earned their fourth straight 1-0 victory, Sunday afternoon at Sweeney Field.
Dominating the game from the start, Saint Joseph's got on the board in the 17th minute as Mulvey tallied her first goal of the season. Off a corner kick by junior Olivia McEachern, senior McHale Perkins headed the ball into traffic in front of the Blackbirds' net where Mulvey collected it and deposited into the back of the net at 16:58.
The Hawks (5-3-0) would control pace from there as they finished with a season-high 22 shots, they held LIU Brooklyn (0-6-0) to just six for the entire game.
With the goal, Mulvey picks up her sixth point of the year, while McEachern collects her second assist and Perkins her first. In net, Ebling has not been scored on in over 364 minutes and posted four consecutive shutout wins to move to 5-3-0 on the year.
Saint Joseph's returns to actions Friday when it hosts Quinnipiac at 7 p.m.
