ST. LOUIS - Saint Joseph's Meghan DiPippa's goal in the 81st minute lifted the Hawks' women's soccer team to a 2-1 victory at Saint Louis on Thursday evening.
Entering the second half tied at 1-1, Saint Joseph's (10-6-0, 4-3-0 Atlantic 10) broke the tie at 80:21 as DiPippa buried home a rebound off a shot by teammate Dakota Mills.
Saint Louis (8-8-0, 2-5-0 A-10) would have one last chance to tie, but the Hawks' defense thwarted the Billikens from getting a shot on goal.
In the first half, Saint Louis' Livi Logan-Wood gave her team a 1-0 edge at 24:24 as she headed in a bouncing ball from six yards out.
Saint Joseph's would even the score at 1-1 just before the half as Mills headed in a corner kick by Shannon Mulvey at 44:30.
The game would remain tied for more than 35 minutes thanks in part to SJU goalkeeper Allison Ebling as she made five or her game-high 10 saves during that period and allowed for the Hawks' offense to tally the game winner.
The Hawks return to action this Sunday at Davidson at 1 p.m.
