PHILADELPHIA – Coming off of a 15-7 win over Longwood on Saturday, the Saint Joseph's women's lacrosse team (3-1) will play #13 Penn (4-0) in the squad's first road contest of 2015 this Tuesday, March 10. Start time at Franklin Field is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.

The Hawks currently rank sixth nationally in draw controls per game (16.00) and caused turnovers per game (12.00), led in the latter category by junior Mallory Grey's 2.25 per game, which ranks her 14th in the nation. Senior goalkeeper Nora McGeever ranks fifth in the nation in saves per game, stopping 11.00 shots per performance.

Heading into Tuesdays game, junior midfielder and Atlantic 10 Conference Player of the Week Kelly Phelan leads the squad in scoring with 17 points on a team-best 14 goals and three assists to go with a team-best 22 draw controls while sophomore midfielder Sarah Smith (9G, 2A) and sophomore attack Nora McCallion (6G, team-best 5A) have added 11 points apiece. Junior defender Mallory Grey has scooped up eight ground balls and caused a team-best nine turnovers while senior goalkeeper Nora McGeever (3-1) sports a 9.66 goals against average and .506 save percentage in 267:05.
SCOUTING #13 PENN
The Quakers are out to a 4-0 start on the season after wins over Delaware, 9-7, Vanderbilt, 12-11 (OT), Rutgers, 17-7, and Brown, 9-7. Tory Bensen (16G, 2A) leads Penn in scoring while Nina Corcoran (6G, 11A) has added 17 points. Meg Markham owns a team-best 16 draw controls and 10 caused turnovers while goalkeeper Lucy Ferguson sports a 7.80 goals against average and .484 save percentage in 246:00.

Penn owns a 1-0 all-time edge against Saint Joseph's after a 14-0 win on March 17, 2010. Penn was ranked fifth in the nation for that contest.

Junior midfielder Kelly Phelan (4G, 1A) and sophomore attack Nora McCallion (2G, 4A) combined for 11 points to lift the Hawks to a 15-7 win over Longwood on Saturday afternoon. The win marked the third straight for the squad and the first regulation finish of the season. Senior goalkeeper Nora McGeever (3-1) added four saves in the full 60:00 for her third collegiate win.
NO FAILING WITH PHELAN
In both of SJU's two overtime victories, junior midfielder Kelly Phelan converted on the game-winning goal. Phelan scored an unassisted goal in the third overtime against American on February 18 and then went on to score the double-overtime GWG on a FPS against Wagner on March 2.
