AMBLER, Pa. - The Saint Joseph's women's soccer team fell at city rival Temple, 3-1, Sunday afternoon.
The Hawks (5-3-0) fell behind the Owls 1-0 early as Temple's Kelly Farrell scored 6:51 into the contest.
Rookie Hannah Racis tied the game at 1-1 at 52:51 as she headed in a corner kick off the foot of classmate Paige Bergman.
Unfortunately for SJU, Farrell would give the Owls (8-2-0) the lead again in the 59th minute, then added an insurance goal in the 69th minute to seal the game.
For the game, Temple outshot the Hawks 14-13, while SJU goalkeeper Grace Bendon posted three saves.
The Hawks return to action this Friday when they host LIU Brooklyn at 3 p.m.
