PHILADELPHIA - The Saint Joseph's women's soccer team set a new single-season record for wins on Sunday as the Hawks topped Davidson, 4-0, to improve to 14-1-2 overall.

Unbeaten in their previous 14 games, the Hawks (7-0-1 Atlantic 10) took a 2-0 lead in the first half thanks to a pair of goals from senior Emily Gingrich. 

Gingrich opened the scoring at 29:17 on a ball played up the middle from Kylie D'Ambra. Collecting the ball in stride, and with no defender guarding her, Gingrich guided a ball to the low left corner and past a drawn-out goalkeeper to make it 1-0. 

Less than nine minutes later Gingrich struck again, this time taking a crossing pass from Brittany Hartwell-Miller in the Davidson box and placing a shot inside the far left post to make it 2-0.

Sophomore Dakota Mills' team-leading 13th goal in the 49th minute quickly extended SJU's lead, while senior Shannon Mulvey closed out the scoring with a goal at 68:41.

For the game, Saint Joseph's outshot Davidson 17-6 and finished with an 8-2 edge in corner kicks. The victory extended the Hawks' unbeaten streak to 15 games and helped them surpass last year's record of wins (13).

Individually, Gingrich finished with two goals and an assists en route to becoming the first Hawk to score 100 career points as she upped her all-time mark to 103. Mills moved to within a goal of the single-season mark (14) and is three shy of the record for points (33). D'Ambra finished Sunday with a career-high two assist, while sophomore Paige Bergman was credited with an assist on the first goal.

In goal, sophomore Grace Bendon made two saves in the shutout to improve to 3-0-0.

Saint Joseph's returns to action on Thursday at Massachusetts at 3 p.m.
