MEDIA, Pa. – The Saint Joseph's men's tennis team turned in a dominant performance on Friday night, cruising past Lafayette, 7-0, at the Springton Indoor Tennis Club. The Hawks did not drop a set across all six singles matches and posted a pair of doubles shutouts.
Renier Moolman and Andres Urrea were 6-0 winners in the first doubles flight, while Tristan Boustany and Kevin Gates won their third-flight tilt by the same score. Kyle Chalmers and Peter Dewitt rounded off the doubles trifecta with a 6-2 triumph in the second flight.
Urrea was a first-flight winner in singles play as well, taking a 6-0, 7-5 result in the top slot. Boustany and Gates were winners as well; Boustany won by a 6-2, 6-0 score in the second flight, while Gates eased to a 6-0, 6-1 win in the fourth.
Dewitt won his fifth flight matchup, 6-1, 6-3, while freshmen Andre Fick and Dan Tan were 6-2, 6-2 and 6-1, 6-2 winners in the third and sixth flights, respectively.
The Hawks are back in action on Sunday, February 21, when they head to Saint Peter's.
