PHILADELPHIA – For the first time in program history, the Saint Joseph's men's soccer team (0-1-0) will host Northeastern and Pittsburgh on Sweeney Field as the Hawks embark on their first two of eight total regular-season home matches this weekend.
SJU will open the home portion of the schedule vs. Northeastern (0-1-0) this Friday, September 2 at 7:30 p.m. The Hawks hold a 1-0 series advantage over the Huskies after a 3-0 victory on October 6, 1985. Northeastern opened the season with a 2-1 loss vs. UMass Lowell; Daniel Arvidsson netted the Huskies' lone goal (31').
Saint Joseph's will then host Pittsburgh (0-0-1) on Sunday, September 4 at 7:00 p.m. The meeting will mark the third in series history and the first since 2010; the Panthers hold a 2-0 series advantage, with both games played in Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh opened the season with a scoreless draw vs. Detroit and will play Temple on Friday before coming to Hawk Hill.

Saint Joseph's is coming off of a 2-0 loss at Temple last Friday. Junior goalkeeper Greg O'Connell made four saves, while senior defender Mike Stuski landed SJU's lone shot on net in the 54th minute.
Led by senior captains Bliss Harris and Stuski, SJU returns 19 Hawks, including nine starters and its entire defensive core, and sports a roster of seven seniors, eight juniors, four sophomores, and nine newcomers this fall.
