LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. - The Saint Joseph's women's soccer team earned a 1-1 double overtime draw at Rider on Sunday.
The Hawks (5-1-1) opened the scoring in the 14th minute as senior Meghan DiPippa tallied her first goal of the season off a crossing pass at 13:59. Sophomore Michaela Finneyfrock and rookie Gabrielle Vagnozzi were credited with assists on the goal.
Rider (3-2-2) would answer back to tie the game at 1-1 at 32:03 as Heather Maierle converted a penalty kick following a foul by SJU inside its own box.
The game would remain tied from there despite the Hawks finishing with a 26-7 edge in shots.
In goal, SJU rookie Cameron Perrot made three saves to move to 5-1-1 on the year.
Saint Joseph's returns to action Friday vs. Columbia at Fairleigh Dickinson University at 7 p.m.
