Women's Soccer Downs Bonnies In Regular Season Finale

OLEAN, N.Y. - Saint Joseph's freshman Morgan Bower and junior Hannah Racis each scored once to help lead the Hawks' women's soccer team to a 2-1 win at St. Bonaventure in the regular season finale on Sunday.

With the win, the Hawks (10-5-3, 5-3-2 A-10) secured the seventh seed in next week's Atlantic 10 Championship and will travel to face second seed Saint Louis next Saturday at 8 p.m. EST in the quarterfinals.

Bower gave SJU an early 1-0 lead at 16:48 as she controlled a breakaway and dribbled past the goalkeeper to deposit the ball in the back of the net.

The Hawks took the lead into the second half, but the Bonnies (2-14-3, 2-6-2 A-10) responded in the 67th minute to tie the game at 1-1 on a goal by Mariah Marrero.

Racis would give Saint Joseph's the lead again, this time in the 82nd minute, as she followed up on a deflected shot by Lauren Dimes and found the back of the net.

Junior goalkeeper Grace Bendon and the Hawks' defense made sure the score would stand from there as she finished the game with five saves in the win to improve to 10-5-3 on the season.
