The Saint Joseph's women's soccer team secured a home match for the quarterfinals of the Atlantic 10 Championship as the Hawks topped St. Bonaventure, 1-0, in their regular season finale on Sunday at Sweeney Field.

With the victory, the Hawks (13-4-2) capped conference play with an 8-2-0 record (24 points) and secured the third seed in the conference postseason tournament via a tie-breaker over George Mason. Saint Joseph's will host sixth seed Fordham in a quarterfinal matchup on Saturday, October 27 at 7 p.m.

On Sunday, Saint Joseph's tallied the game's lone goal in the 12th minute courtesy of senior Dakota Mills. With the ball in the box, the Hawks lifted a shot towards the left post that glanced off the hand of the St. Bonaventure goalkeeper and to the foot of SJU rookie Mackenzie Ehresman. Quickly turning to her right, Ehresman found a wide open Mills, who deposited the ball into the back of the net to make it 1-0 11:28 into the match.

From there, the Hawks' defense and senior goalkeeper Grace Bendon would hold St. Bonaventure at a distance. Making two saves in the shutout victory, Bendon set a new program record for single-season wins as she recorded her 13th victory on the day.

Winners of six straight, Saint Joseph's will face Fordham for the second time this season after topping the Rams in overtime, 1-0, last Thursday.
