Women's Soccer Falls In A-10 Quarterfinals To George Washington

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Saint Joseph's women's soccer team's season came to a close on Saturday as the Hawks fell to George Washington, 3-0, in the quarterfinals of the Atlantic 10 Championship at the GW Soccer Field.

How It Happened
• The second seed George Washington took a 1-0 lead at 5:58 on a goal by Maria Pareja.
• The seventh seeded Hawks played the Colonials even over the remaining 39 minutes as the score remained 1-0 at halftime.
• George Washington added to its lead early in the second stanza though as Sofia Pavon scored at 51:51.
• Saint Joseph's Dakota Mills nearly made it a one-goal match in the 74th minute, but her header glanced the crossbar and deflected away from the goal.
• The Colonials' Rachel Sorkenn would quickly follow the missed header with a goal later in the 74th minute to make it 3-0.
• In goal, senior Cameron Perrott made four saves for the Hawks.
• Kylie D'Ambra and Morgan Bower each recorded three shots apiece to lead SJU.
• For the Hawks' senior class, they finish their careers having led SJU to four-straight A-10 postseason appearances, including the 2016 A-10 Regular Season title and an appearance in the 2016 A-10 title game.
• Dakota Mills caps her career second all-time in goals (39) and points (89).
• Gabrielle Vagnozzi finishes her career second all-time in assists (21) and eighth in points (51).
• Perrott will leave the SJU program third all-time in career goals-against-average (1.26) and finishes with a career-best five shutouts this season.
• Saint Joseph's finishes the 2019 season with a 7-10-2 overall record.
