Men's Basketball's Comeback Versus Florida Comes Up Short

CHARLESTON, S.C. - Fighting back from an 18-point first half deficit to Florida, the Saint Joseph's men's basketball team made it a two-point game on a Ryan Daly layup with under a minute to play. Unfortunately for the Hawks, the Gators scored the game's final six points to hold on for a 70-62 victory in the opening round of the Charleston Classic on Thursday at TD Arena.

How It Happened
• Falling behind 14-2 to start, and trailing by 18 at one point, the Hawks slowly chipped away at Florida's lead in the second half to make it 52-43 on a free throw by Myles Douglas at 11:32.
• The Gators pushed their lead to 55-43, but Saint Joseph's answered with a 7-0 run as a layup by Rahmir Moore cut it to a 55-50 game with 8:50 remaining.
• With under two minutes to play, Florida held a 64-58 edge, but two free throws by Douglas and a driving layup by Daly made it 64-62 with 0:56 left.
• The Gators closed out the game at the line though, going 6-6 from the charity stripe.
