Backed by a combined 46 points from
Ryan Daly and
Myles Douglas, the Saint Joseph's men's basketball team topped William & Mary, 84-69, on Thursday evening at Hagan Arena.
How It Happened
• Saint Joseph's jumped out to an early 5-0 lead, but William & Mary answered back to take its only lead, 10-9.
• The Hawks responded with a 9-2 run as Daly scored the first four points, while Douglas finished with the next five.
• A three-point play by
Lorenzo Edwards gave Saint Joseph's a 38-25 lead with 3:48 to go in the period, but the Tribe finished the half on an 8-3 run to make it 41-33 at intermission.
• William & Mary carried momentum into the second half and quickly made it a 41-36 contest.
• Sparked by a pair of free throws by Douglas, the Hawks scored the next 13 points to push their lead to 54-36 on a Daly three-pointer at 17:27.
• The Tribe cut Saint Joseph's lead to 61-54, but the Hawks pushed back with a 14-4 run as a three-pointer by
Cameron Brown made it 75-58 with 8:05 to play.
• Saint Joseph's allowed William & Mary to get no closer than 10 points from there as it snapped an eight-game skid.
