Box Score PHILADELPHIA - The Saint Joseph's women's soccer team fell to Massachusetts, 4-3, Sunday afternoon at Sweeney Field.
How It Happened
• Saint Joseph's scored three-straight goals to take a 3-1 lead early in the second half, but Massachusetts scored three-unanswered goals to pull away for the 4-3 victory.
. The Minutewomen's Lauren Bonavita opened the scoring at 23:18 as she scored from inside the box.
• Saint Joseph's Dakota Mills converted a penalty kick at 34:36 to tie the match at 1-1.
• Junior Melanie Cunha tallied her first goal as a Hawk to make it 2-1 as she took advantage of a UMass turnover and beat the Minutewomen's goalkeeper to the left post at 39:34.
• Senior Kylie D'Ambra extended Saint Joseph's lead to 3-1 at 56:01 as she scored off a penalty kick.
• Melissa Kossler brought the Minutewomen to within 3-2 as she scored off a set piece at 72:51.
• Massachusetts then scored twice in under a minute to pull ahead for the win as Fatou Barry scored off a corner piece at 79:18, while Kossler tallied the game winner at 80:01.
• Senior goalkeeper Cameron Perrott made a season-high 11 saves fo the Hawks, but fell to 2-3-0 on the season.
• With the loss, Saint Joseph's moves to 1-2-0 in the Atlantic 10, and 4-6-1 overall.
