How It Happened

Cameron Brown gave the Hawks an early 11-7 lead on a baseline jumper at 16:27, but VCU used a 9-0 run to pull ahead 16-11.
• Up 24-19, the Rams put together an 11-3 spurt to extend their lead to 35-22 on with 3:06 left before halftime.
• In the second half, Saint Joseph's got within 10, 55-45, on a three-pointer by Brown.
• VCU never allowed the Hawks to get any closer though as they pushed ahead for good with an 8-0 run.
