Saint Joseph's
Ryan Daly scored a career-high 35 points, but Saint Louis held off the Hawks for a 78-73 victory at Hagan Arena on Saturday evening.
How It Happened
• Down 71-62 with under four minutes to play, Daly scored eight-straight points to bring the Hawks to within a possession, 73-70, on a driving layup with 2:12 to play.
• Following a pair of Saint Louis free throws, Daly connected on his sixth three-pointer of the game to make it 75-73.
• The Hawks' defense stood tall as play resumed with
Chereef Knox blocking a shot and SJU grabbing the rebound with :31 left in the game.
• Out of a timeout, Daly tried to give Saint Joseph's the lead with a three from the top of the arc, but the ball missed the mark and Saint Louis grabbed the rebound and closed the game out at the foul line.
• In a back-and-forth game that featured 10 lead changes and nine ties, the two teams entered the final seven minutes knotted at 60-60.
• Saint Louis used an 11-2 run over three-minute span to open its biggest lead, 71-62, on a pair of free throws by Javonte Perkins at the 4:12 mark.

• Saint Joseph's shot 43.4 percent overall (25-of-53), 36.4 percent from behind the arc (12-of-33) and 88.2 percent from the foul line (15-of-17).
• Daly connected on 12-of-23 from the field, including 6-of-13 from three-point range, and went 5-of-5 from the line to finish with 35 points and surpass his previous high of 32 set earlier this season against Villanova.
• Daly has now scored 30 points or more four times this season, and reached the 20-point mark 14 times.
• With a team-high six assists, Daly factored into 18 of the Hawks' 23 field goals.
• Daly also finished with a team-high seven rebounds and three steals.

• Perkins led four Billikens in double figures with 33 points.
• Saint Louis finished with a 35-28 edge in rebounds and tallied 16 second-chance points to the Hawks' five.
• The Billikens also forced 16 SJU turnovers and converted those into 22 points.
• Saint Louis finished the night shooting 42.6 percent overall (26-of-61), going 5-of-11 from three-point range (45.5 percent) and 21-of-28 from the line.
