Men's Basketball Holds Off Late Fordham Rally, 73-69

The Saint Joseph's men's basketball team picked up a key Atlantic 10 win on Saturday as the Hawks held off a late rally by Fordham to earn a 73-69 victory at Hagan Arena. 

How It Happened
• After trailing for most of the first half, Saint Joseph's found itself down 39-36 following a jumper by Fordham's Antwon Portly with 14:16 to play.
Myles Douglas answered with a three to tie the game and sparked a 17-0 run by the Hawks.
• Saint Joseph's Anthony Longpré gave his team a 53-39 lead at the halfway mark of the half as he capped the run that saw the Hawks connect on 5-of-6 from the floor and 4-of-4 from the line, while holding the Rams to 0-of-6 during that stretch.
• Ahead 70-62 on a free throw by Cameron Brown with :14 to play, the Hawks saw their lead cut to two, 71-69, on a three-pointer by Josh Colon with :02.3 to go.
• Fouled on the in-bound, Rahmir Moore connected on a pair of free throws to secure the victory.
• In the first half, Fordham opened a 23-15 lead with just under seven minutes remaining in the period on a pair of free throws by Ty Perry.
• Saint Joseph's responded with an 8-0 run to tie it at 23 all on a layup by Lorenzo Edwards.
• Fordham pushed its lead back to five, but the Hawks battled back to within one, 32-31, on an Anthony Longpré three-pointer in the final seconds.

Inside the Boxscore
• Saint Joseph's shot 35.7 percent from the floor (20-of-56) and 21.1 percent from three-point range (8-of-38) to the Rams' 39.4 percent (26-of-66) and 30.8 percent from distance (8-of-26).
• Thr biggest difference came at the foul line as the Hawks knocked down 25-of-35 (71.4 percent) to Fordham's 9-of-10.
• Daly finished with a game-high 21 points, reaching the 20-point mark for the 18th time this season, and added a game-high four assists to go along with six rebounds.
• Longpré grabbed a team-best seven rebounds and scored 11 points.
• Brown finished with 12 points and added five rebounds.
• Douglas was the fourth Hawk in double figures as he finished with 11 points and had three assists.
• With the victory, the Hawks claim 13th place and jump ahead of the Rams in the A-10 standings.
