PITTSBURGH – Saint Joseph's
Taylor Funk scored 13 of his team-high 15 points in the second half to lead a surge by the Hawks, however Duquesne's strong first half propelled the Dukes to a 67-50 win on Saturday evening at the Kerr Fitness & Sports Center.
How it Happened
• Duquesne opened the contest with an early 5-4 edge, but used a 20-3 run over a nine minute span to build a 25-7 lead on a dunk by Marcus Weathers with 6:20 remaining in the half.
• A three-pointer by
Jordan Hall helped the Hawks to within 27-12 at 5:03.
• The Dukes answered by scoring the next 10 points and took a 40-17 edge into the second half.
• Back-to-back three-pointers from
Dahmir Bishop and Funk brought the Hawks to within 50-33 six minutes into the final period.
• Duquesne allowed Saint Joseph's to get no closer than 16 points from that point on.

• Saint Joseph's finished the contest strong as it outscored Duquesne 33-27 in the second half.
• Funk led the Hawks in scoring for the eighth time this season with 15 points, and matched his season-high with nine rebounds.
• Rookie
Jadrian Tracey finished a point shy of a double-double, grabbing a season-high 11 rebounds to go with nine points.
