#11 Field Hockey Preps to Host Davidson on Friday

Fresh off another win over a ranked opponent, the Saint Joseph's field hockey team will host Davidson for a key Atlantic 10 matchup on Friday afternoon at Ellen Ryan Field.

LAST TIME OUT: Saint Joseph's (11-4 overall, 4-1 Atlantic 10) split a pair of games, falling to then-#21 UMass, 1-0, in overtime on Friday before topping then-#12 Boston College, 2-0, on Sunday...In the win over the Eagles, Manon van Weezel scored her first goal as a Hawk to give SJU a second-quarter lead; Katelyn Cocco then turned defense into offense with a goal as a result of the press in the first minute of the fourth quarter to put the Hawks in control.

Davidson (2-12 overall, 0-4 Atlantic 10) dropped a pair of contests last week, suffering a 4-2 loss to La Salle on Friday before succumbing to #15 Wake Forest, 5-0, on Sunday.

LEADERS: Freke van Tilburg and Manu Ghigliotti continue to lead the Hawks in scoring; van Tilburg's 25 points top the ledger, while Ghigliotti has totaled a team-high 11 goals to go with 23 points...Van Tilburg is second in goals with 10 and tied for second in assists with five...Katy Benton's eight assists are a team-best, while Cassidy Atchison has chipped in with five as well...Robin Bleekemolen has started every game in the cage for the Hawks, posting a goals against average of 1.15 to go with a .714 save percentage.

Izzy Moody, Natalie Naticchia, and Anna Sharp have all scored three goals to lead the Wildcats, while Moody's eight points are a team high...Macy Curtis has tallied four assists to pace Davidson in that category...Cato Roell has started 13 of 14 contests between the pipes for the Wildcats, posting a 4.09 GAA and a save percentage of .608...Genna Barge has also appeared in four games, including one start.

ALL-TIME SERIES: The Hawks are 6-0 all-time against Davidson, with all six meetings coming since the Wildcats joined the Atlantic 10 conference...Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the teams did not meet last season; their previous tilt was a 5-0 SJU win at Ellen Ryan Field on October 25, 2019.
