OLEAN, N.Y. – A first-half penalty kick conversion by St. Bonaventure proved to be the difference as the Saint Joseph's women's soccer team was tripped up by the Bonnies, 1-0, on Sunday afternoon.
How It Happened
• St. Bonaventure was awarded a penalty kick after Saint Joseph's was called for an illegal tackle inside its box.
• The Bonnies' Cristina Torres converted the penalty try to put SBU up 1-0 at 30:12.
• The Hawks' best scoring chances came in the final three minutes of the match as they registered three of their 11 shots over that period, but could not find the back of the net.
