HOW IT HAPPENED
• Neither team found the back of the cage in the first quarter, but early in the second,
Manu Ghigliotti broke the deadlock as she spun and fired low past SLU's Sasha Sander for a 1-0 Hawk lead.
• Shortly after halftime,
Anna Miller sent a long ball into the circle that
Leigh James tipped in with an extraordinary diving effort to double the advantage.
• Miller then got on the scoreboard herself, finishing a pass from
Zoe Wohlleben to close out the scoring.
BEHIND THE BOX SCORE
• Saint Joseph's (9-3 overall, 3-0 Atlantic 10) was dominant throughout, holding Saint Louis (1-11 overall, 0-4 Atlantic 10) without a shot on the day. The Hawks would fire off 25 of their own, and earned nine penalty corners without conceding one.
• Sander made six saves on the day, while SJU's
Robin Bleekemolen was not called on to make a stop.
• Farquhar ranks second in program history with 100 victories, trailing only Michelle Finegan's 143. Her first victory came in her first game on the Hawk sideline, when SJU came from behind to beat Lehigh, 2-1, on August 29, 2014.
