RICHMOND, Va. – Erica Behr scored less than three minutes into the match, and goalkeeper Katie Cappelletti and the Saint Joseph's defense made the goal stand as the eighth seeded Hawks knocked off top seed VCU, 1-0, in the quarterfinals of the 2021 Atlantic 10 Women's Soccer Championship on Saturday evening at Sports Backers Stadium.
With the victory, St. Joe's advances to face fourth seed Massachusetts in the semifinals next Friday, November 5. Both the semifinals and championship finals will be played at Dayton's Baujan Field.

How It Happened
• Behr put the Hawks up 1-0 early as she pounced on a rebound off a shot by teammate Gabriella Senni, and slipped the ball into the back of the net 2:44 into the contest.
• VCU finished the first half with a 10-5 edge in shots, but Saint Joseph's put four of its five shots on goal, while the Rams had just three shots on goal.
• Cappelletti stood tall in the second half as she collected four of her game-high seven saves during the final 45 minutes and kept VCU off the scoreboard for the second consecutive game.

• Behr's goal was her second of the season, while Senni's assist was her second of the year.
• Cappelletti's seven saves on the night pushed her season total to 110, passing Christine Neal (107 saves in 2012) for fifth place in SJU single-season history.
• Cappelletti also posted her seventh clean sheet of the year, tying Neal (2012) and Allison Ebling (2015) for fourth most in a single season.
• With the victory, the Hawks earned their fourth trip to the semifinals of the A-10 Championship.
