NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Saint Joseph's freshman guard
Erik Reynolds II has been named Atlantic 10 Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week after averaging 13 points per game, while shooting 46.2 percent from the field and 92.3 from the foul line over two games last week.
Opening the week against city-rival Drexel last Wednesday, Reynolds II finished with 13 points on 3-of-6-shooting, including 1-of-2 from distance and 6-of-7 from the line, and added a pair of assists and a rebound in a thriller versus the Dragons. Reynolds II followed with 13 points, two steals, a rebound and an assist versus Monmouth on Saturday. Starting all four games this season, Reynolds II currently ranks third on St. Joe's in scoring (10.8 ppg) and three-point percentage (.375), and second in assists (seven).
Reynolds II and the Hawks take on #24 USC in the opening game of the Paycom Wooden Legacy on Thanksgiving evening at 9:30 ET in Anaheim, California.
