• A three-pointer by Funk at the 14:05 mark capped off a 17-2 run that gave the Hawks a 19-6 lead.
• After a bucket by the Owls, SJU went on another 11-2 spurt, including going 7-for-7 from the line, to make it 30-12 with six minutes to play in the half.
• The Hawks nearly pushed the lead past 20, but the Owls hit four free throws to cut the margin to 37-22 at the break.
• Temple scored the first four points of the second half, but Obinna scored six in a row for the Hawks to push the lead to 43-28 with 15:01 to go.
• The Owls went on a mini-run of their own, outscoring the Hawks 11-3 over the next five minutes to cut it to a seven-point game at 46-39. However, a technical foul to Temple's Damian Dunn led to six consecutive points for the Hawks and a 52-39 lead with 9:30 to play.
• The run would eventually reach 22-5, with Hall scoring all 13 of his second-half points, including three three-pointers, as SJU went into the under-4 timeout with a 65-44 lead.
