Men's Basketball's Rally At Bradley Falls Short, 77-73

PEORIA, Ill. – Down by as many as 12 points in the second half, the Saint Joseph's men's basketball team had a chance to take the lead in the final seconds at Bradley. But a go-ahead three-pointer by the Hawks missed its mark as the Braves closed out the game from the foul line for a 77-73 win on Saturday afternoon at Carver Arena.

How It Happened
• Bradley used an early 8-0 spurt to build a 12-5 edge on a Terry Roberts layup at 16:15.
• Saint Joseph's chipped away at the Braves' lead, and behind a 13-3 run, the Hawks opened a 34-29 advantage on a Taylor Funk jumper with 3:24 to go in the first half.
• Bradley scored eight of the final 10 points of the first half to take a 39-38 lead into the second half.
• The Braves extended their lead to 46-38 as they scored the opening seven points of the second period.
• A three-pointer by Funk brought the Hawks to within 57-50, but Bradley responded with five straight points to push ahead 62-50 on a three-pointer by Connor Hickman with 8:53 to play.
• St. Joe's countered with a 7-0 run as a layup by Ejike Obinna made it 62-57.
• The Hawks continued to cut into the Braves' lead as a layup by Jordan Hall made it 74-73 with 1:18 to go.
• Saint Joseph's got the ball back following a turnover by the Braves.
• The Hawks couldn't convert on two three-pointers at the offensive end as Bradley collected the ball and was fouled on a contested layup with :09.9 left.
• Following a review, the foul by St. Joe's was called a flagrant and allowed the Braves to convert two free throws and retain possession.
• Ahead 76-73, Hickman was fouled and made 1-of-2 from the line to seal the contest

• Funk led four Hawks in double figures with a game-high 22 points to go with a team-best nine rebounds.
• Hall handed out a career-high 12 assists and added 10 points and seven rebounds.
• With his 12 assists, Hall notched his fifth contest with double-digit assists.
• Reynolds II matched his season-high with 13 points on 5-of-8 shooting, including 2-of-3 from three-point range and 1-of-1 from the foul line.
• Obinna chipped in with 13 points and seven rebounds.
• Dahmir Bishop added seven points in 26 minutes as a reserve.
• Ja'Shon Henry led four Braves in double figures with 18 points.
• Saint Joseph's went 5-of-7 from the foul line, while Bradley was 20-of-25.
