VILLANOVA, Pa. – Saint Joseph's
Jordan Hall finished with a team-high 22 points, but the Hawks fell to #6 Villanova in their Big 5 opener, 81-52, on Saturday afternoon at Finneran Pavilion.
How It Happened
• After a back-and-forth opening six minutes, Villanova scored 12-straight points to push ahead 26-11 on a pair of Jermaine Samuels free throws at 7:54.
• Hall and
Ejike Obinna combined for all 11 points during an 11-2 run by the Hawks, as a jumper by Hall made it 28-22 with 4:06 to go in the first half.
• A pair of three-pointers by Villanova's Collin Gillespie capped the first half, and sparked a 13-0 response that pushed the Wildcats' lead to 41-22.
• A three-pointer by
Erik Reynolds II made it 41-25, but that would be as close as St. Joe's would get on the afternoon.

• For the second straight game, Hall led SJU in scoring, finishing with 22 points, to go with five assists, a block, a steal and a rebound.
• Obinna scored in double figures for the fourth-straight game as he added 10 points and four rebounds.

Cameron Brown was the third Hawk in double figures, chipping in with 10 points, five rebounds, two assists and two steals.
