OLEAN, N.Y. – The Saint Joseph's baseball team fell at St. Bonaventure, 8-3, in the series opener between the teams at Fred Handler Park on Friday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• St. Bonaventure (3-11 overall, 2-3 Atlantic 10) took the lead with three runs in the first and one in the second.
•
Andrew Cossetti reached on an error in the top of the third that allowed
Brett Callahan to score and get the Hawks on the board.
• Saint Joseph's (9-7 overall, 4-1 Atlantic 10) got back within a run at 4-3 on a two-run single by Cossetti in the top of the fourth.
• Unfortunately for the Crimson and Gray, the Bonnies scored three in the sixth and added an insurance run in the eighth to seal the victory.
BEHIND THE BOX SCORE
• Liam Devine tossed five innings and allowed three runs on seven hits to earn the win.Â
Ian McCole took the loss after being charged with five earned runs on 11 hits in five and a third innings.
• Callahan went 3-for-4 on the day with two runs scored; Cossetti was 2-for-5 with two runs driven in.

The teams will play a doubleheader on Saturday beginning at noon.
