Women's Tennis Drops 6-1 Result at Duquesne

PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The Saint Joseph's women's tennis team fell to Duquesne, 6-1, at the Alpha Tennis Club on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Saint Joseph's (3-5 overall, 0-3 Atlantic 10) won the first doubles match of the day as Amanda Nava and Stow Weiss earned a 6-2 first-flight win, but the hosts took the other two flights for the doubles point.

• Nava was able to get a singles point for the Hawks with a 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 win in the top flight, but Duquesne (5-4 overall, 3-3 Atlantic 10) claimed the other five flights to secure the victory.

"Another match where the score belies the competitive nature of the contest," head coach Ian Crookenden said.  "Amanda is displaying the consistency of performance expected with her seniority and the youthfulness of the majority of the squad is reflected in the cyclical nature of our team performance.  A learning experience that will prove its value as we get further into the season."
